Human beings have always used art to express themselves. Every people, including the Aboriginal people, has created art forms that strengthen bonds between individuals and groups, and pass elements of culture down from generation to generation. Aboriginal artists express their traditions, perception of the land, beliefs and the imagination of their peoples: the images and methods they use vary according to the Nation to which they belong and the place where they live. Today, these artists also use modern techniques to portray the challenges they face, such as life in the city or the process of claiming their rights.
