A community is a group of people who live together because it makes everyone’s life easier and the whole group benefits. For example, people living in a community can share resources, such as food, and better protect themselves from dangers.
All peoples of the world have developed different forms of communities. Most of the time, a community is made up of people who have a common history, live in the same area, speak the same language and share traditions. This is why Aboriginal people live in communities: they feel an important connection to people who share their culture, their history and their land; they also work together to plan the growth of the community and its future.
