In Aboriginal music, the human voice and drums are the most important instruments.

In addition to singing to celebrate events or the pleasure of being together, the various Aboriginal Nations created songs related to important events and life moments, for example, singing for healing or purifying, singing to thank the animal’s spirit during a hunt, and singing during ceremonies and rites of passage, such as the birth of a child.

Traditional songs are passed down from generation to generation. New songs are also created to reflect traditions, the land and life of today.
