In 2010, Canada joined other countries that had adopted an international declaration agreeing to respect the rights of Aboriginal people.

What rights?

  • Not to be the victims of discrimination
  • To make decisions about economic, social and cultural development
  • To see their culture respected
  • To live on their land
  • To keep their traditions alive
  • And many more!

Why? Because “all peoples contribute to the diversity and richness of civilizations and cultures, which constitute the common heritage of humanity.”
