Wendake is an Aboriginal reservation located along the St-Charles River outside Quebec City. The village was founded in 1697. Its name means “among the Wendat”.

Today, many thriving businesses contribute to Wendake’s reputation. There are several tourist attractions, such as Hôtel-Musée des Premières Nations and the traditional Onhoüa Chetek8e site, where tourists can visit a longhouse and other attractions.

The challenge facing the inhabitants of Wendake is to preserve their culture and traditions while living near a big city. This is why it is very important to them to learn the Wendat language and create shows featuring singing, dancing and legends.
