Being part of today’s world while remaining committed to their roots, values and traditions is a challenge for Aboriginal people.
Using television and the internet to share culture and traditions is a way to keep that balance: music, storytelling, legends and Aboriginal cinema are available all over the world. These technologies also make it possible to establish contacts with Aboriginal people from around the world to share challenging situations and solutions, ideas and traditions.
More and more Aboriginal youth are also pursuing higher education (college and university)*. They can then use their knowledge to enhance their culture, contribute to the development of their community (for example by creating businesses or aid agencies) and support the claims of all Aboriginal people.
* In the past, it was difficult for many young people to finish high school because of the remoteness of communities and social problems.
