Nomadism is a way of life. Nomadic peoples move constantly to follow the herds they hunt or to find fruits and plants to gather.
In the past, nomadism was the way of life for many Aboriginal peoples such as Innu and Anishinabeg (Algonquin). When the reserves were created, they settled in houses and villages; they became sedentary. They partly abandoned the nomadic way of life, but continued to hunt, fish and gather on the land.
