For Aboriginal people, passing on knowledge from person to person through talking and demonstrating, is an important value. This is how history, traditions, knowledge and beliefs are passed down from generation to generation. It is sometimes called the oral tradition.
The way traditions are passed down today is a little different: the Internet, social media and the media are used to communicate. With this technological support, the languages and cultures can keep being taught. Through technology, it is now possible for more and more people, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people from around the world to have access this knowledge.
