The Inuit live in an area filled with lakes and rivers. Fishing is part of their way of life, both for recreation and also sometimes to feed the family. The Inuit fish all year round. In the winter, they go ice fishing.

Brook trout, sea trout, walleye, whitefish and lake trout are abundant in these waters. There is also pike, which can grow as long as 1.5 meters and weigh up to 25 kilograms.
