The next generation refers to those who are continuing work that has already been started. This new generation is made up of young people in the communities. They are the ones who carry the traditions and are taking over the tasks of their elders. All communities hope that the young people will be able to fulfill their wishes for the future: to recognize their rights and cultures, to live better in everyday life and to gain greater autonomy.

Aboriginal artists, musicians, politicians, researchers and students are among the next generation. Everyone works, in their own way, to promote traditions, values, history and languages. Many young Aboriginal women are committed to preventing and abolishing the social problems and injustices they face. All First Nations and Inuit people place their plans for the future in their hands.
