The cultures of the First Peoples and the lands they live on are of interest to many non-Aboriginal people. The First Nations and Inuit have set up structures to welcome visitors and provide them with unforgettable experiences.

For example, in Wendake near Quebec City, the Huron-Wendat built a First Nations hotel-museum: you can visit exhibitions or sample dishes inspired by traditional cuisine. You can also participate in a guided tour of the village or events such as powwows. A traditional site was built where visitors can enter a real longhouse.

In Mashteuiatsh in Lac-St-Jean and in Odanak near Sorel, museums give visitors an opportunity to learn about the traditional cultures of the Innu and Waban-Aki, and see contemporary art by local artists. In Ekuanitshit (Mingan), a cultural center offers a window into the Innu’s traditional way of life.

Thanks to these cultural enterprises, visitors from around the world discover rich and fascinating cultures and knowledge.
